We're passionate about our Mission - To explore, enjoy, and protect the wild places of the earth; to practice and promote the responsible use of the earth's ecosystems and resources; to educate and enlist humanity to protect and restore the quality of the natural and human environment; and to use all lawful means to carry out these objectives.
The Central Piedmont Group includes the counties of Cleveland, Lincoln, Gaston, Mecklenburg, Iredell, Union, Anson, Cabarrus, Stanly and Rowan. Our monthly meetings take place the fourth of the month at the Mahlon Adams Pavilion at Freedom Park, 2435 Cumberland Avenue, Charlotte, NC, 28203 (Cumberland Ave. is off of the 1500 block of East Boulevard). Meetings start at with snacks, refreshments and a chance to meet and socialize with other Sierra Club members and friends. The business meeting and program begins at . The program is free and open to the public and you do not have to be a member to attend. Free parking is available.
We’re looking for volunteers to get involved locally and help the environment. We hope that you'll want to learn about your local Sierra Club group, what we are working on, and how you can actively make a difference. Whatever your interest — local politics, hiking, activism or socializing — there is an opportunity for you with the Central Piedmont Sierra Club.
