July 4th, Durham, NC: Brisk Walk/Hike on Duke's Al Beuhler Trail (Dog Friendly Outing)

Event Date:
Thu, Jul 04 9:00

This trail encircles and has great views of the Duke Golf Course. This will be a BRISK/quick 3.6 mile walk/hike meant to get your heart pumping and ease your guilt for all you will be eating later on in the day! If you are new to exercise, this outing is not for you. Please wear proper walking/running/hiking shoes--NO SANDALS/FLIP FLOPS! Well behaved-leashed dogs that can handle the walk/hills are welcome if you bring poop bags and leave no trace!!! Leader will be bringing her own dog, Lucy (a 50lb retriever mix). There are two water stations (person/dog accessible) along the way. We will meet at the gravel parking lot on Academy Rd. near the intersection of Erwin Rd. We will leave the parking area at 9am and start walking the trail in a clockwise direction (heading UP the hill!). We'll stop at the "Swamp" to look for wildlife like birds and turtles. Please arrive early to sign the waiver!
